5 Ways to beat Bloating during Periods

Many women also undergo bloating during periods or at the beginning of the periods. During periods, there is a constant up and down in the estrogen level in the body. Also, during periods, the progesterone level also drops down which leads to bloating. Here are 5 ways to beat bloating during periods: 

1. Protein and potassium-rich diet
Try to include protein and potassium-rich food items in your diet. Eat egg, banana and tomatoes. It helps the prostaglandins hormones to function properly. This hormone is the cause of the contraction of muscles and leads to bloating. Thus, such a diet will help you to beat bloating.

2. Restricted consumption of alcohol and caffeine
Alcohol increase bloating, mood swings and cramps. The caffeine disturbs the digestive system and causes bloating. Thus, one must not drink alcohol or caffeine.

3. Do not skip working out
During periods, most of the women stop working out. But do not do this. Not doing proper workout during periods slows down the process of the digestive system.

4. Do not eat gastric food
To reduce bloating, one must restrict the intake of gastric food. Restrict the intake of broccoli, cabbage, pulses, cow milk, potato and corns as they cause gas.

5. Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar helps to get rid of bloating during periods. It cleanses up the digestive tract which restricts bloating in the stomach. Mix one spoon of apple cider vinegar in water and drink it.
